June 2014: Rachel, Jason and Hazel visit from NYC. Hazel is a little under the weather. Rachel and I went to Polish Home for pierogi. They gave us this box for my leftovers, which I later, as a bad hostess, refused to share. Please note while I love the pierogi at Polish Home, I do not love the service and ergo do not believe the sincerity of this sentiment.
To Edison for lunch at Tweets Cafe. The Fisherman (sardines and sauce and egg on toast - excellent)
Small letterpress picture by Karie Jane Von Allmen (Bellingham) purchased at Lucky Dumpster (Edison). Note: many cash-only places in Edison.
Hazel being held back from highly enthusiastic handholding with her new best friend (in pink crocs) who was taking a turn at the bow.
Basket-weaving info and edible flowers from the basket-weaver. All the Camlann folks won't break character so when she gave us some "gilliflower" to try (I liked it) she would neither confirm nor deny that this was actually a carnation. According to the Internet, which I checked later, I am pretty sure that was the case, but the term can refer to other flowers, too.
I found an intact half of a robin's egg, which I thought Hazel might be excited to look at but she was mainly excited to crush it to pieces.
